In the name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful.
(1) I swear by the beginning of a new day.
(2) And by ten consecutive nights.
(3) And by the even and the odd.
(4) And by the evening, as it turns into night.
(5) Can a person of logic take this oath seriously?
(6) Have you seen what your Lord has done to A'ad?
(7) And to Erum of giant pillars?
(8) It's a one-of-a-kind creation that's never been seen in these lands before.
(9) What about Thamud, who carved rocks in the valleys?
(10) And Pharaoh, who had mighty structures.
(11) They all oppressed throughout the lands.
(12) And spread much corruption there.
(13) So, your Lord sent a whip of punishment their way.
(14) God is always Watchful.
(15) When God tests someone and gives them blessings, they say, "God has honored me."
(16) But when God tests and provides less, they say, "God has humiliated me."
(17) No, you don't help the orphans.
(18) And you don't support feeding people in need.
(19) You're greedy with inheritances.
(20) And you love money too much.
(21) No, imagine the earth being crushed again and again,
(22) And your Lord comes with angels all lined up.
(23) And Hell is brought near. Man will remember his sins that Day, but what good will it do?
(24) He'll say, “I wish I had prepared something good for this life.”
(25) On that Day, no one punishes like God.
(26) And no one chains like God.
(27) God says, "O Peaceful soul,
(28) Return to your Lord, pleased and accepted.
(29) Join My servants.
(30) Enter My Paradise."
