In the name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful.

(1) What are they asking about?

(2) They're asking about something great.

(3) They can't agree on it.

(4) But soon they'll figure it out.

(5) Indeed, they'll find out.

(6) Didn't We turn the earth into a comfy place to live,

(7) and made mountains like anchors,

(8) and created you in pairs,

(9) and gave you sleep to rest,

(10) and made the night a cozy cover,

(11) and made the day for work and making a living,

(12) and We set up seven strong heavens above you,

(13) and put a bright lamp in them,

(14) and We sent down rain from the clouds,

(15) To grow crops and beautiful plants,

(16) With stunning gardens, too?

(17) Indeed.  The Day of Judgment is scheduled.

(18) When the trumpet blows, everyone gathers.

(19) The sky opens up with big gateways.

(20) The mountains will be blown away and look like a mirage.

(21) Indeed. Hell is waiting like a trap.

(22) For the evil ones. It's their final place.

(23) They stay there for ages.

(24) No cool drinks for them.

(25) Just boiling water and nasty stuff.

(26) That's what they deserve.

(27) They didn't expect to be judged.

(28) They ignored Our signs.

(29) We've kept a record of everything.

(30) Indeed. They'll taste the punishment, and it'll get worse.

(31) Good people get a big win.

(32) Gardens and vineyards for them.

(33) and lovely companions who are just the right match.

(34) With cups filled with tasty pure wine.

(35) No lies or gossip there.

(36) A sweet gift from the Lord.

(37) He's the Lord of everything—the Most Merciful. No one can argue with Him.

(38) On that Day, the Holy Spirit and angels stand in a line. They only talk if the Merciful allows.

(39) That Day is the ultimate truth. So, anyone who wants to can follow the Way that leads to God.

(40) Indeed, We've warned you about a close punishment. When people see what they've done, disbelievers cry, “I wish I were dust.”
