In the name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful.
(1) I swear by the Day of Judgment.
(2) And I swear by that inner voice that makes you feel guilty.
(3) Do people think We won't be able to reassemble their bones after they die?
(4) Yes, indeed, We can even recreate their fingerprints.
(5) People ignore what's coming and keep doing wrong things.
(6) They wonder, "When will the Day of Judgment come?"
(7) But when the sight is stunned,
(8) And the moon becomes hidden by the sun,
(9) and the sun and moon are brought together,
(10) Then people will ask, “Where is the escape?
(11) There's no safe place to hide.
(12) On that Day, everyone will return to their Lord.
(13) And they'll be shown what they've done and what they've left for the future.
(14) People will be witnesses against themselves.
(15) Even if they try to make excuses, it won't help.
(16) Don't rush to memorize the Quran too quickly.
(17) We are the Ones who will preserve and recite it.
(18) So follow its recitation carefully once We share its revelation with you,
(19) We will explain its meanings to you.
(20) But you all seem to love this temporary life more.
(21) And you forget about the life after death.
(22) Some faces will be bright on that Day,
(23) looking at their Lord with joy.
(24) But some faces will be gloomy,
(25) worried about the punishment coming their way.
(26) But no! Beware of the Day when the soul reaches the throat,
(27) People ask, "Who can save this person now?"
(28) The dying person becomes certain he is leaving this world.
(29) With their legs tied together in a shroud.
(30) On that Day, they'll head to their Lord.
(31) They didn't believe or pray.
(32) Instead, they denied the truth and turned away.
(33) They went back to their family proudly.
(34) But they'll regret it deeply.
(35) They'll keep regretting more and more.
(36) Do people think they were created without a purpose?
(37) Weren't they once just a tiny drop of fluid?
(38) Then they grew into a clot; God shaped them.
(39) He made them into two genders, male and female.
(40) Isn't He capable of bringing the dead back to life?
