In the name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful.

(1) O Prophet! Why do you prohibit yourself from doing something God says is okay just to make your wives happy? God is Forgiving and Merciful.

(2) God has already decided a way to let go of oaths you've made. And remember, God is watching over you. He is the All-Knowing, the All-Wise.

(3) Remember when the Prophet told one of his wives something private? And when she told another wife, God let him know? He told her what she said and overlooked some parts. So, when he told her, she asked, "How did you find out?" He said, "God, Who knows everything, informed me."

(4) It's better if both of you, the Prophet's wives, ask God for forgiveness because you've made mistakes in your hearts. And if you both go against the Prophet, remember that God is on his side. He has the support of Gabriel, good believers, and the angels as well.

(5) If the Prophet were to divorce all of you, maybe God would replace you with better wives who are obedient to God, loyal, devoted, regretful for their mistakes, and committed to prayer and fasting—whether they were married before or not.

(6) O you who believe! Protect yourselves and your families from a Fire where people and stones are its fuel. Some strong angels are in charge of it. They don't go against God and do whatever they are told.

(7) O disbelievers! Don't try to make excuses today. You'll get what you deserve for your actions.

(8) O you who believe! Turn to God and ask for His forgiveness sincerely. Maybe God will forgive your sins and let you into Gardens where rivers flow underneath. The Day when God will not shame the Prophet and those with him. Their light will shine ahead of them and on their right. They will say, “Our Lord! Perfect our light for us and forgive us. Truly, You are Capable of everything.”

(9) O Prophet, stand firm against the disbelievers and the hypocrites and be strict with them. They will end up in Hell, and it's a terrible place!

(10) God gives an example for those who don't believe: the wives of Noah and Lot. They were married to good people but turned against them. Being married to them didn't help at all, and they were told to enter the Fire with others.

(11) God also gives an example for the believers: the wife of Pharaoh. She prayed, "My Lord! Make me a home in Heaven close to You. Save me from Pharaoh and his bad actions, and protect me from the wrongdoers."

(12) And Mary, the daughter of Imran, who kept her virginity, so We breathed into her womb through Our angel Gabriel. She believed in God's words and was a genuinely devout person.
