In the name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful.
(1) All thanks are to God, Who created the heavens and the earth and made darkness and light. But some people who don't believe in God make other things equal to Him instead.
(2) God created all of you from clay, set a time for your life, and another secret for bringing you back to life. But you still have doubts!
(3) He is the Only True God in the heavens and the earth. He knows your secrets, what you say out loud, and what you do.
(4) And whenever God sends them signs, they ignore them and deny the truth.
(5) They've indeed rejected the truth when it came to them, which is the Quran, but eventually, they'll see the truth they've been making fun of.
(6) Have they not seen how many groups of people who didn't believe in God We wiped out in the past? Some of them were even more powerful than you are now. We provided them with lots of rain and rivers running underneath them, but because of their wrongdoings, We punished them and replaced them with others.
(7) Even if We send down a book to you as a scroll, and they touch it with their hands, the non-believers would say, "This is obvious magic."
(8) They asked, "Why didn't an angel come to him?" If We had sent an angel to them, everything would have been over instantly by wiping them out, and they wouldn't get any more chances.
(9) And if We had sent an angel, We'd make him look like a human, making them even more confused than they already are.
(10) Even messengers before you were made fun of. But those who made fun of them ended up facing severe consequences for it.
(11) Tell them, "Travel around the earth and see what happened to those who didn't believe the truth."
(12) Ask them, O Prophet, "Who owns everything in the heavens and the earth?" Say, "It's all God's." He has written upon Himself to be Merciful. He will gather everyone on the Day of Resurrection, without a doubt. Those who lost their way don't believe.
(13) Everything that happens during the day and night belongs to God. He hears everything and knows everything.
(14) Say, "Should I rely on any protector other than God, Who created the heavens and earth, feeds everyone, and doesn't need anyone to feed Him?" Say, "I was commanded to be the first to submit to God and not to follow those who believe in many gods."
(15) Say, "I'm terrified that if I disobey God's rules, I might face a tough punishment on a tremendous Day."
(16) Whoever is saved from that punishment on that Day means God has been Merciful to him. That's the apparent success!
(17) When life gets tough, only God can make it better. And when things are going well, God can do anything.
(18) God has all the power over everything He created. He's Wise and knows everything.
(19) Ask them, "Who is the best witness?" Say, "God is! He's the One watching over everything between me and you. And this Quran was sent to me so I could warn you and everyone else who hears it. Do you pagans honestly say there are other gods alongside God? No! I can't say that! There's only One God, and I reject entirely any idols you connect with Him.
(20) Those people We gave the Scripture know that 'Muhammad' is a real prophet like they know their children. But those who lost their way will never believe.
(21) And who could be more unjust than someone who tells lies about God or denies His messages? Indeed, unfair people won't succeed in the end.
(22) On the Day when We will bring all of them together, We'll ask those who worship idols, "Where are the idols you used to believe in?"
(23) They'll make excuses and say, "We swear by You, God, our Lord; we never worshiped idols!"
(24) But they're lying about themselves, and those fake idols they made up will disappoint them.
(25) Some people act like they're listening when you read the Quran, but We have placed a cover over their hearts, so they can't understand it, and deafness in their ears. Even when they see a sign, they won't believe it. Those who don't believe might even argue with you, saying, "This Quran is just made-up stories from the past!"
(26) Some people try to stop others from following the teachings of the Prophet and distance themselves from those teachings. However, their actions harm only themselves, and they don't even realize it.
(27) Imagine if you could see them when they are caught right before the Fire. They'll cry, "Oh, we wish we could go back to life on earth, not rejecting our Lord's guidance, and be among the believers."
(28) Everything they tried to hide will become known to them, and if they were given a second chance, they'd return to doing the wrong things. Indeed, they're just liars.
(29) They claim that this life is all there is and that there's no life after this.
(30) If you could witness them when they have to answer to their Lord, He will ask them, “Is this not the truth?” They'll admit, “Yes. Indeed. It is,” but then God will say, “Taste the torture for not believing.”
(31) Indeed, they have lost those who refuse to believe in God and ignore the idea of meeting Him. When the Hour surprises them, they'll regret not taking it seriously and cry, "Oh no, we shouldn't have ignored this!" They will carry the weight of their mistakes on their backs, and it's heavy. Indeed, Evil is their load!
(32) Life in this world is just like a game and having fun, but the afterlife is so much better for good and righteous people. Can't you see that?
(33) We know what people say makes you feel down, O Prophet, but they aren't saying you're a liar. It's just that the unfair people refuse to believe in the revelations of God.
(34) Indeed, even the messengers who came before you faced rejection and tough times, but they stayed patient until they received Our help. God always keeps His promise to help; you've heard stories about these messengers.
(35) If you're feeling frustrated because people are turning away from you, then if you can dig a tunnel to the center of the earth or build a staircase to the sky to show them a miracle, it wouldn't make them believe. It's up to God to guide them. So do not be ignorant of this.
(36) Only those who listen and understand will respond to the message. As for those who have passed away, God will bring them back to life, and everyone will return to Him eventually.
(37) People say, "If only a miracle could come down upon him from his Lord, we'd believe!" Say, “God has the power to send down a miracle, but unfortunately, most are unaware of this fact.”
(38) There isn't a single living thing on earth, an animal walking on land or a bird soaring in the sky, that isn't part of a larger community, just like you humans. God has carefully recorded everything. In the end, everyone will come together before their Lord.
(39) People who reject the signs of God are willfully deaf and dumb, lost in darkness. God lets those who choose to stray go their own way, but He also guides those He chooses to the Right Path.
(40) Ask them, “Imagine if the punishment of God or the end of the world was coming suddenly—would you ask anyone other than God for help? Tell me if what you say is true!
(41) In reality, it's God you'll turn to, and if He wishes, He can rescue you from your difficulties, and you'll forget all about your idols.
(42) Certainly! We sent messengers to different communities before you, O Prophet. We made these people face suffering and tough times because they rejected the message. The purpose was to make them realize their mistakes and humble themselves.
(43) It would have been better if they had humbled themselves when they faced God's punishment. But no, their hearts hardened, and they got drawn into doing wrong things by Satan.
(44) When they continued to ignore the warnings, We gave them everything they wanted, and they felt overjoyed. But then, when they least expected it, We took them by surprise, and their happiness turned to sorrow.
(45) In the end, the wrongdoers were wiped out, and all praise goes to God, the Lord of everything.
(46) Imagine this: What if God suddenly removed your ability to hear, see, and close your heart? Who else could restore them but God? We give you signs in different ways, but they ignore them!
(47) Think about it: Who would be in trouble if God's punishment suddenly struck you with or without a warning? It'd be the wrongdoers, for sure.
(48) We send messengers to share good news or to give warnings. So, if someone believes and tries to be a better person, there's no need to be scared or sad.
(49) But the punishment will touch those who reject Our revelations because they are rebellious.
(50) Say, O Prophet, "I want you to know that I don't have God's secret treasures, and I do not know the future. I'm not an angel, either. I follow what God tells me." Ask them, "Are the blind and the person who can see the same? Don't you think about it?"
(51) And warn with this Quran those who fear standing before their Lord. Let them know that there's no one else to protect or defend them except Him. This may make them more aware of Him.
(52) Don't turn away the poor believers who pray to their Lord, day and night, seeking to please Him. You're not responsible for them, and they're not responsible for you. If you send them away, you'd be doing something wrong.
(53) This is how We test some people through others so that those who don't believe ask, "Why does God seem to favor these poor believers over us?" Doesn't God know best who's grateful?
(54) And when those who believe in Our revelations come to you, say to them, "Peace be with you. Your Lord has written upon Himself to be Merciful. If any of you make a mistake because you didn't know any better, but then you repent and try to do better, He will surely forgive you and show you mercy."
(55) This is how We make these messages clear to help you understand the way of the wicked.
(56) Tell them, "I'm not allowed to worship those you call upon besides God. I won't follow what you want or end up lost and not on the Right Path."
(57) Tell them, "Indeed, I have solid evidence from my Lord, but you've rejected it. I can't speed up the punishment you're asking for—it's all up to God. He's the one who decides when it happens. He always tells the truth and is the Fairest Judge.
(58) Say, "If I could make things happen faster, our issues would be resolved by now. But God knows best who's doing wrong."
(59) God holds the keys to the hidden, which only He knows. He knows everything on land and in the sea. He's Aware of every falling leaf, every grain in the dark soil, and every wet or dry thing. It's all recorded in a perfect Record.
(60) He takes your souls at night, knows what you did during the day, and brings you to life each day until a set time. Then, you'll all return to Him, and He'll show you what you did.
(61) He's incredibly Powerful over His servants, and He sends guardian angels to watch over you. Until when death comes to any of you, Our messengers take their soul, and they never fail.
(62) Then they are returned to God, their True Master. He's got the Best Judgment, and He's Quick with keeping track of everything.
(63) Ask them, "Who's going to rescue you from the darkness of the land and the sea?" You quietly and humbly pray to Him, saying, "If He helps us out here, we'll be super grateful."
(64) Tell them, "It's God Who rescues you from all that trouble and other disasters. But you're still worshipping other stuff instead of Him."
(65) Say, "He's the One Who can bring punishment from above you, below your feet, or create divisions and make you hurt each other. Check out how We show you different signs so they can understand."
(66) Even though this Quran is true, your people rejected it. Tell them, "It's not my job to make you believe."
(67) Every story has an ending, and you'll indeed find out in the end.
(68) When you meet people who make fun of Our revelations, don't hang out with them unless they're talking about something else. If Satan makes you forget and you end up sitting with them, as soon as you remember, leave those who are doing wrong.
(69) People who think about God won't be blamed for what others make fun of. Their job is to give advice, and maybe the ones making fun will stop.
(70) And leave those who treat the beliefs of Islam as just a joke, getting caught up in the pleasures of this worldly life. But remind them with this Book so they don't ruin their lives because of their wrong actions. They won't have anyone except God to protect them or speak up for them. Even if they try to give up everything they have to make up for it, none will be accepted. Those are the ones who will face the consequences of their wrong actions. They'll have a drink of boiling water and a painful punishment because they didn’t believe.
(71) Ask them, "Why would we pray to something other than God, which can't help or harm us, and then turn away from the path God has shown us?" If we do that, we're like someone lost on earth, tempted by the devil, confused, with friends calling out, "Join us." Say, “God's guidance is the real guidance, and we're commanded to submit to the Lord of all creation,
(72) Pray and be mindful of Him because you will all return to Him one day.
(73) It's God who created the heavens and the earth for real. And when He says to something, 'Be,' it is. His word is the truth. On the day the trumpet blows, He's in charge and knows everything, things you can see and can't. He's Super Wise and Fully Aware of everything."
(74) And remember when Abraham talked to his father, Azar, and asked, "Are you seriously worshiping idols as gods? I can see that you and your people are way off track."
(75) God then showed Abraham the amazingness of everything in the heavens and the earth to strengthen his faith.
(76) Later that night, Abraham saw a bright star and thought, "Maybe this is my god." But when it disappeared, he said, "No! I don't like things that vanish."
(77) Then, he saw the moon coming up and said, "This has got to be my god!" But the moon disappeared too, and he said, "If God doesn't guide me, I'll be as lost as the rest."
(78) And then, when the sun came out, super bright and all, he said, "Certainly, this has to be my god, it's the greatest!" But then again, the sun disappeared, and he told his people, "I want nothing to do with the gods you're into."
(79) I have turned my face to the Creator of the heavens and the earth with sincerity, and I don't follow multiple gods.”
(80) Then his people started arguing with him. He said, "Why are you arguing with me about God when He's shown me the Way? I'm not scared of anyone you worship except if God allows it. My Lord knows everything. Don't you get it?
(81) And why should I be afraid of the things you worship alongside God when you don't even worry about mixing other things with Him, something God disapproves of? Who's on the safer side here? You tell me if you have a clue!"
(82) Those who believe and don't mix their faith with lies will be safe and find the Right Path.
(83) This is how We supported Abraham when dealing with his people. We elevate those We choose to higher positions. Your Lord is Super Wise and knows everything.
(84) And We have blessed him with Isaac and Jacob. We guided each of them like Noah and his descendants from before: David, Solomon, Job, Joseph, Moses, and Aaron. This is how We reward those who do good.
(85) And Zechariah, John, Jesus, and Elijah. They were all righteous.
(86) And Ishmael, Elisha, Jonah, and Lot, showing special favor to each of them compared to others in their time.
(87) And from their ancestors, children, and siblings. We chose them and showed them the Right Path.
(88) This is how God guides people. He chooses whoever He wants among His servants. If they had worshipped someone other than God, all their good deeds would've gone to waste.
(89) These are the people to whom We gave the Scripture, the authority, and prophethood. But if these pagans don't believe in this Quran, then God has already given it to people who will always believe in it.
(90) God guided these prophets, so you should follow their example. Say, “I'm not looking for your reward for sharing this Quran. It's just a reminder for everyone.”
(91) They're not showing respect for God when they claim, "God has never revealed anything to any human." Tell them, "Who revealed the Book Moses brought, which was a light and guide for people? You wrote it down in scrolls, showing some parts and hiding others. You've learned things that neither you nor your ancestors knew through this Quran. Say, “God revealed it! So, let them have fun with their false beliefs."
(92) This Quran is also a blessed Book, confirming what was revealed before it. It's here to help you warn Mecca, the Mother of Cities, and everyone around it. People who genuinely believe in the afterlife will believe in it, and they'll be guarding their prayers.
(93) And who does worse than someone who makes up lies about God or says, "God has revealed this to me!" even though nothing has been revealed to them? Or the one who claims, "I can reveal the same things as God!" If only you, O Prophet could see these wrongdoers when they are on their deathbeds while angels are stretching out their hands, saying, "Give up your souls! Today, you will face the punishment of shame for lying about God and being arrogant towards His messages!"
(94) "Today, you've come to Us all by yourself, just as you were created the first time, with nothing in your hands. And We don't see those so-called protectors you once worshipped alongside God. That connection is gone, and your false claims are exposed."
(95) Certainly, God is the One Who makes seeds and pits in fruits grow into plants. He brings the living from the dead and the dead from the living. That's God's doing! So, how can you be misled away from the truth?
(96) God makes the sun rise and created the night for rest. He also made the sun and the moon move in a precise way. This is the amazing plan of the Almighty, Who knows everything.
(97) He also created stars to guide you in the dark, whether on land or at sea. We have made these signs clear for people who know.
(98) And He created all of you from one person and decided where you'll live and eventually rest. We've explained these signs clearly for those who understand.
(99) God sends rain from the sky, which makes everything grow, from plants to trees. Think about dates on palm trees and gardens full of grapes, olives, and pomegranates. They might look similar in shape, but they taste so different. Check them out when they're ripe – it's proof for those who believe.
(100) And they make the Jinn partners with God, even though He's the One Who created them. They even told stories about God having sons and daughters without knowing better. All praise be to Him. He's way above whatever they describe!
(101) He's the One Who Originated everything in the heavens and on earth. How can anyone say He has a child when He's never had a wife? He's the Creator of everything, and He knows every little detail.
(102) That's God—your Lord! There's no one else you should worship except Him. He made everything, so worship only Him. And He takes care of everything.
(103) You can't see Him, but He can see everything. He's Super Kind and knows all that's going on.
(104) Certainly! Your Creator has shared valuable insights with you. If you decide to understand and learn from them, it'll benefit you. But if you choose to ignore them, it's your loss. I'm not a keeper over you.
(105) We clarify the revelations for them, but they say, "Oh, you must've learned that from some old books." We're just explaining this Quran for those who get it.
(106) Follow what your Lord has revealed to you—remember, there's no god but Him. And stay away from people who worship other gods.
(107) If God wanted, they wouldn't worship many gods. We have not made you in charge of them, and you're not responsible for caring for them.
(108) Don't make fun of the idols they pray to instead of God because that might make them say mean things about God without really knowing the truth. We have made people's deeds attractive to them, but in the end, they'll return to God, Who will tell them about what they did.
(109) Some people swear solemnly that they'll believe in miracles if they see one. Tell them that miracles are in God's Hands, and you believers can't predict if they'll believe even if they witness a miracle.
(110) And We turn their hearts and eyes away because they refused to see the truth the first time. We let them go their way, walking blindly in their rebellion even though the truth is right before them.
(111) Even if We sent angels to them and the dead came back to life to talk to them, and everything was laid out clearly, most of them wouldn't believe unless God wanted them to. Sadly, many people are pretty clueless.
(112) We've allowed enemies for every prophet, including devils from humans and Jinn, who whisper lies to each other. If your Lord wanted, they wouldn't be able to do this. So, leave them and their lies.
(113). Those who don't believe in life after death might be more open to it, find joy in it, and continue doing wrong things.
(114) Say, O Prophet, "Why would I look for someone else to decide when God is the One Who gave you the Book with all the truths clearly explained?" People who already have the Scriptures know it came from your Lord. So, don't be among those who have doubts.
(115) The Quran is your Lord's true and just Word. It won't change, and God hears and knows everything.
(116) If you follow what most people on earth say, you might end up far from God's Path. Many of them make things up based on guesses and speculations.
(117) Indeed, Your Lord knows who strays from the Right Path and who's on the Right Track.
(118) If you genuinely believe in God's messages, eat the meat slaughtered in God's Name.
(119) And why wouldn't you eat the meat slaughtered in God's Name? He's already told you what's off-limits, except in cases of necessity. Most people blindly follow their desires, which leads them astray. God knows those who cross the line.
(120) Stay away from all kinds of apparent or hidden wrongdoing. Indeed, people who commit sins will face the consequences.
(121) Don't eat anything that hasn't been blessed with God's Name. That's a disobedient thing to do. The sneaky devils try to convince their human friends to argue with you. If you listen to them, you would also be going against God.
(122) Imagine people who were once dead, but then God gave them life and a guiding light to walk among others. Can they be compared to those stuck in total darkness, unable to find their way out? This is how the wrongdoings of those who don't believe in God can seem attractive to them.
(123) We put some evil people in every town to plot evil plans in it, but guess what? They're only making plans to harm themselves, and they don't even realize it.
(124) Every time a clear sign comes their way, they say, "We won't believe unless God sends us a miracle like the ones given to the messengers." God knows where to place His message. Eventually, God will expose the evil schemers and punish them big time.
(125) When God wants to guide someone, He opens their heart to Islam, but when He wants to let someone go astray, He makes their heart feel tight like they're climbing up into the heavens. This is how God shows His displeasure toward those who don't believe.
(126) This is the Right Path set by your Lord. We've explained it clearly for those who want to remember.
(127) They'll have the Home of Peace with their Lord, and He'll be their Protector based on what they did.
(128) Think of the Day when everyone is brought together; God will say, "O Jinn group. You have misled a lot of humans." The humans who followed them will admit, "Our Lord, we took advantage of each other, but now we've come to the time you set for us." God will say, "Hell is your home where you'll stay forever unless I decide otherwise. Your Lord is Wise and Knowledgeable."
(129) This is how God makes people who do wrong team up with each other because of the evil things they do.
(130) God will ask, "O group of Jinn and humans! Didn't messengers come to you, sharing My messages and warning you about this Day?' They'll admit, "Yes, we confess against ourselves!" They got caught up in their love for the worldly life. They'll even admit that they were not believers.
(131) God sends messengers to people because He doesn't destroy a community for their wrongdoing without first ensuring they know the truth.
(132) Everyone will be given different ranks according to their deeds. God knows everything about their actions.
(133) Your Lord does not need anything from anyone. He is also Super Merciful. If He wants, He can make you disappear and bring in new people, just like He created you from the descendants of others.
(134) Indeed, what's been promised to you is coming, and you can't stop it.
(135) Say, "O my people! You do your thing, and I'll do mine. You'll find out who's got it good in the afterlife. Indeed, those who do wrong won't succeed."
(136) The pagans who don't believe in God set aside a part of the crops and animals God created, saying, "This part is for God," they claim, "and this one is for our gods." But the share of their gods is not given to God, while God's share is given to their gods. That's not fair at all!
(137) The devils tempted the pagans to do terrible things, like killing their kids. This only leads to their destruction and makes their faith even more confusing. If God hadn't allowed it, they wouldn't have done it. So, leave them and their lies.
(138) And they say, "We decide who can eat these animals and crops, which animals you can ride, and we even say you can't use God's Name to slaughter some cattle." They're just making rules in God's Name. He will pay them back for their lies.
(139) They also say, "The baby animals born from these cattle are only for our men and not allowed for our women. But if it's born dead, everyone can have a share." God will make them answer for their lies. Indeed, He is All-Wise, All-Knowing.
(140) Absolutely, people who kill their children without knowing any better and stop themselves from enjoying what God has given them, spreading lies about God, are lost. They've gone off the Right Path and are not guided correctly.
(141) He is the One Who creates all kinds of gardens – some that are carefully planted and others that grow wild. He also makes palm trees, crops with different tastes, olives, and pomegranates. Even though they may look similar, they have unique flavors. Eat their fruits, give thanks by paying their dues when you harvest, and don't be wasteful. God doesn't like those who waste things.
(142) Some animals are suitable for work, while others are too young. Eat the food God has given you, and don't follow the bad things Satan tempts you with. Remember, he's your sworn enemy.
(143) Eight pairs: two sheep and two goats. Ask, "Did God forbid having two male or two female animals, or what's in the wombs of the two females? If you're telling the truth, give me the right answer based on your knowledge."
(144) And two camels and two cows. Ask them, "Did God forbid both males and both females or what's inside the bellies of the females? Were you there when God made these rules?" And who's more wrong than someone who makes up lies about God to mislead people without knowing the truth? God doesn't guide those who do wrong.
(145) Say, "Based on what's been revealed to me, the only things that are forbidden to eat are dead animals, blood, pork, and anything offered to gods other than God – all of these are impure. But if someone is forced to eat anything to survive, not out of greed, your Lord is All-Forgiving and Most Merciful.
(146) And for the Jews, We prohibited animals with claws and certain fats from cows and sheep. However, the fat from their backs, intestines, and what's mixed with their bones is okay. We did this as a consequence of their wrongdoing. We always speak the truth.
(147) If they don't believe you, say, "God is endlessly Merciful, but those who do wrong can't escape His punishment."
(148) Those who believe in many gods argue, "If God wanted, we and our forefathers wouldn't have worshipped others alongside Him or made certain things forbidden." In the past, people ignored the truth until they tasted Our punishment. Ask them, "Can you provide any proof or knowledge? It seems you're just following baseless ideas and telling lies."
(149) Say, "Remember, God has the final say. If He wanted, He could've shown everyone the Right Way."
(150) Say, O Prophet, "Bring your witnesses who can confirm that God has forbidden this." If they lie, don't testify and agree with them. And don't follow the wishes of those who ignore Our revelations, don't believe in the Afterlife, and consider others equal to their Lord.
(151) Say, "Let me tell you what your Lord has forbidden: Don't worship anyone else besides Him, be good to your parents, don't kill your children because you're in need – God provides for you and them. Stay away from anything indecent, whether it's obvious or hidden, and don't take a life unjustly. These are God's rules, so you can think and make good choices.
(152) Don't take advantage of an orphan's money unless you're trying to make it grow until they grow up. When you measure or weigh things, be fair. God doesn't ask anyone for more than they can handle. Always be fair, even if it's with someone in your family. Keep the promises you make to God. That's what He wants, so try to remember that.
(153) Indeed, that is My Right Path, perfectly straight, so stick to it. Don't follow other ways, or you'll get lost. God has given you this guidance, so be aware and mindful of Him.
(154) We also gave Moses the Scripture, adding to the good things for those who do good. It explains everything, guides, and shows mercy. This way, they can be sure about meeting their Lord.
(155) The Quran is also a blessed Book that God revealed. Follow it and be mindful of God so you can receive God's mercy.
(156) You can no longer say, "The Scripture was only given to people before us, and we didn't know about their teachings."
(157) Or say, "If the Scripture had been given to us, we would've been better guided." But now, your Lord has given you guidance and mercy. Who does more wrong than someone who ignores God's revelations? Those who turn away from His guidance will face the worst punishment because they chose to turn away.
(158) Are they waiting to see if something extraordinary happens, like angels showing up, your Lord making a grand appearance, or some other signs from your Lord? On the Day when those signs finally show up, only those who already believed or lived righteously will benefit. So, tell them, "Go ahead, keep waiting. We're waiting, too."
(159) Certainly, you are not responsible for the people who started dividing their religion into different groups. It's up to God to deal with them, and He'll let them know what they've been up to.
(160) If you do a good deed, it's like you scored ten times the points! But if you do something terrible, you'll only be held accountable for that one thing, and it's not unfair at all.
(161) Tell them, "My Lord has guided me the Right Way, the way that Abraham followed. Abraham was an upright person who never worshipped idols."
(162) Say, "Everything I do – my prayers, my sacrifices, my life, and even my death – it's all for God, the Lord of everything, no one else.
