In the name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful.

(1) Everything in the sky and the the earth praises God. He's Super Powerful and Super Wise.

(2) God kicked out the non-believers from the people of the Book from their homes during their first gathering. Nobody thought they'd go away. They even believed that by building solid fortresses, they'd be safe from God. But God's decision caught them by surprise. He made them scared, and their homes were ruined by their own hands and by the hands of the believers. So, pay attention to this, O intelligent people!

(3) If God hadn't made them leave their homes, He would've surely punished them while they were alive. But in the afterlife, they'll face the punishment of Hellfire.

(4) This is because they went against God and His Messenger. Anyone who opposes God should know that He can be severe in punishment.

(5) When you cut down a tree or leave it standing on its trunk, it's all with God's permission, and it's a way to shame rebellious people.

(6) The gains God gave His Messenger—you didn't have to fight for them or ride a horse or camel to get them. It's all because God empowers His messengers as He pleases. God is Most Capable of everything.

(7) The gains God gave His Messenger from the people in different villages belong to God, the Messenger, the Messenger's family, orphans, poor people, and homeless people so that money doesn't just stay with the rich. If the Messenger gives you something, take it; if he says no, leave it. Always be mindful of God because God is severe in punishment.

(8) And don't forget about the poor refugees who were forced out of their homes and lost their belongings for supporting God and His Messenger, seeking God's blessings and approval. These are the true believers.

(9) Now, for those who already lived in the city and believed before the newcomers arrived, they welcomed those emigrants who came to live with them. They don't want any of their gains or money. They prefer the emigrants over themselves, even though they may be in need. And whoever overcomes their selfishness, they're the successful ones.

(10) Those who came after them pray, "Our Lord, please forgive us and our fellow believers who came before us. Don't let us hold grudges against those who believe. Our Lord, You're indeed Kind and Merciful."

(11) Have you noticed the hypocrites who tell their non-believing brethren from the people of the Book, "If you're kicked out, we'll go with you, and we'll never go against you. If you're in trouble, we'll help you." But God knows they're lying.

(12) These hypocrites won't leave with them if they're kicked out. If they're in trouble, they won't help them. And if they do help, they'll run away. The non-believers won't get any help.

(13) Indeed, these hypocrites are more afraid of you than they are of God. That's because they don't understand.

(14) Even if they are united, they won't attack you except if they're hiding in fortified places or behind walls. They hate each other a lot, even though they might seem united. But inside, their hearts are divided. That's because they just don't understand.

(15) They're like those who came before them and faced the consequences of their evil actions. They're in for a painful punishment.

(16) Like Satan, who tries to lead someone to disbelief. Then, when that someone disbelieves, Satan will say on the Day of Judgment, "I don't want anything to do with you. I'm scared of God, the Lord of everything."

(17) So, both end up in Hell in a never-ending punishment. That's what happens to people who do wrong things by disbelieving.

(18) O you who believe! Be good and think about what you're doing for your future. Be mindful of God because He knows everything you do.

(19) Don't be like those who forget about God and forget who they are. Those are the ones who are rebellious.

(20) People in Heaven and people in Hell are not the same. The ones in Heaven are the winners.

(21) Imagine if We sent this Quran to a mountain, it would bow down and break in awe of God. These stories are here for you to think about.

(22) God is the One and Only. He knows everything, the stuff you can see and can't. He's Kind and Merciful.

(23) God is the One and Only. He is the Greatest King, the Purest, the Perfect One, the Giver of Peace, the Guardian of All, the Most Powerful, the Strongest, the Most Magnificent. God is praised and exalted above anything people wrongly worship beside Him!

(24) He is God, the Creator, the Inventor, and the Designer of everything. He has the Most Beautiful Names. Everything in the universe praises Him, and He's the All-Powerful, the All-Wise.
