In the name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful.
(1) Hha, Mim.
(2) This is a revelation from the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate.
(3) It's a Book that explains things clearly—an Arabic Quran for people who understand.
(4) This Book brings good news and warnings. But most people ignore it and turn away, so they are not listening.
(5) And they say, "Our hearts are blind to what you're saying; we can't hear it, and there's an invisible wall between us. Do what you want, and we'll do the same."
(6) Say, O Prophet, "Indeed, I am just a regular person like you. It was revealed to me that there's only One God. So, follow the Right Path towards Him and ask for His forgiveness." And woe to those who worship idols.
(7) Those who don't give the obligatory alms to those in need and don't believe in the Hereafter.
(8) Those who believe and do good things will get a fantastic reward that never ends.
(9) Say, "Do you not believe in the One Who created the earth in just two days, and you make others equal to Him? That's the Lord of everything."
(10) He placed firm mountains on the earth, blessed it a lot, and gave it everything it needed to support life, all in just four days for everyone who asked.
(11) Then, He turned to the sky when it was smoky and said to the sky and the earth, "Submit, whether you like it or not." They both said, "We'll obey willingly."
(12) So He shaped heaven into seven different heavens in just two days, giving each heaven its own rules. And He put stars in the lowest heaven to make it beautiful and protect it. That's how the All-Powerful, All-Knowing One planned it all out.
(13) So if they ignore this, tell them, "I'm warning you about a massive thunderbolt, like what happened to A'ad and Thamud."
(14) Their messengers came to them, from before and behind them, saying, "Only worship God." They replied, "If our Lord wanted, He could have sent angels instead. So, we do not believe what you're saying."
(15) So, A'ad got all high and mighty, rejected the truth, and bragged, "Who's stronger than us?" Did they forget that God created them and He is stronger than all? They kept on ignoring the signs from God.
(16) So, We sent against them a very cold, furious wind for a few terrible days, giving them a taste of punishment in this life. But the punishment in the next life is way worse, and there's no escape.
(17) As for Thamud, We showed them the Right Path, but they chose to stay blind. So, because of their past actions, they were struck with a thunderbolt of humiliating punishment.
(18) And We saved the ones who believed and stayed faithful to God.
(19) On the Day when God's enemies will be lined up for the Fire.
(20) When they get there, their ears, eyes, and skin will speak against them, showing the evil things they did.
(21) They'll ask their skin, "Why did you testify against us?" Their skin will reply, "God made us talk, just like He made everything speak. He created you the first time, and you were bound to return to Him.
(22) And you used to think your eyes, ears, and skin couldn't tell on you. But you thought God didn't know a lot of what you did.
(23) Your wrong idea about God messed you up, and you lost.”
(24) So, even if they try to be patient, they'll always be in the Fire. Asking to please God won't work.
(25) We gave them bad friends who made the wrong things they did before and will do in the future seem cool to them. So, they got the punishment they deserved, just like the communities of jinn and humans in the past. They were big-time losers.
(26) And disbelievers tell each other, "Don't listen to this Quran; talk louder than it so you can win."
(27) We'll give disbelievers a harsh punishment, and their punishment will match their evil deeds.
(28) This is what happens to God's enemies—the Fire is where they'll stay forever. It's the fitting payback for always denying Our messages.
(29) Those who don't believe will say, "Our Lord, show us those jinn and humans who tricked us, so we can put them under our feet and make them the lowest of the low."
(30) Those who say, "Our God is Allah," and stay strong, the angels will descend upon them and say, "Don't be scared or sad. Get excited about the awesome Paradise you've been promised.
(31) We're on your team in this life and the next. You'll get whatever you want there.
(32) thanks to our Super-Forgiving, Super-Merciful Lord."
(33) And who's got better words than someone who tells people about God, acts with honor, and says, "I'm one of those Muslims who submit to God"?
(34) Good and evil aren't the same. When someone does wrong to you, be good in return. Eventually, they might become your friend.
(35) Only the patients and lucky ones can make this happen.
(36) And if you feel tempted by Satan, turn to God for help. Indeed, He hears and knows everything.
(37) God's signs are the night, day, sun, and moon. Don't worship the sun or moon; worship God Who created them. If it is Him, you genuinely worship.
(38) Even if pagans are all too proud, the angels close to God praise Him day and night, never getting tired.
(39) And among His signs is when you look at the ground, it's all dry and lifeless. But when rain comes down, it starts to come alive and grow. Indeed, the One Who makes it alive can also bring back the dead. Indeed, He can do anything.
(40) Indeed, those who twist and mess up Our messages can't hide from Us. So, is the person who gets thrown into the Fire better than the one who's safe on Judgment Day? You can do whatever you want, but He's watching everything you do.
(41) Those who don't believe in the Reminder that's come to them and it's a mighty Book.
(42) No lies can touch it from any side. It's a message from the All-Wise, Worthy of Praise.
(43) What the disbelievers say to you is what they said to the messengers before you. Your Lord can forgive, but He can also give a painful punishment.
(44) If We had revealed it as a non-Arabic Quran, they would've said, "Only if its verses are clearly explained in our language. What? A non-Arabic Quran for Arabs?" Say, “It's a guide and healing for those who believe. But those who don't believe can't hear it and can't see its truth in their hearts. It's as if they are called from a faraway place.”
(45) We gave Moses the Scripture, but people started arguing about it. If your Lord hadn't decided, God would have judged between them. They're indeed very uncertain about it.
(46) Whoever does good things, it's like a win for himself. But if he does evil things, he is hurting himself. Your Lord doesn't mistreat His people.
(47) Only God knows when the Hour will come. Just like how a fruit grows inside its skin, or a woman gets pregnant and gives birth—God knows it all. When that Day comes, God will ask, "Where are the other gods people made up?" They will say, "We can't say we've seen any."
(48) Those statues people used to pray to will abandon them. They'll realize there's nowhere to hide.
(49) People always pray for good things, but when tough times hit, they lose hope.
(50) If God shows His mercy after someone goes through hard times, they will say, "I deserve this. The Hour will never come, and if I return to God, He'll give me the best." But disbelievers will be reminded of their past and suffer.
(51) And if We bless people with good things, they act proud and turn away. But when they face problems, they pray nonstop.
(52) Say, “Imagine if this Quran comes from God, and you turn it away. Who can be more lost than someone who pushes against the truth?"
(53) We'll show them Our unique signs in the world around them and inside them until they see that this Quran is true. Isn't it already amazing that your Lord sees everything?
(54) They're not sure about meeting their Lord, but He knows everything for sure.
