In the name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful.

(1) Tta, Sin, Mim.

(2) These are the Verses of the clarifying Book.

(3) We're telling you part of the story of Moses and Pharaoh for those who believe.

(4) Indeed, Pharaoh, who was a powerful ruler, acted all high and mighty in his land. He divided the people into factions, oppressed some of them, killed their sons, and enslaved their daughters. He was a real corrupter.

(5) But We wanted to help those suffering and make them role models of faith and successors.

(6) And settle them in the land. We wanted to show Pharaoh, Haman, and their army that they should be scared of what they were doing.

(7) And We inspired the mother of Moses, "Take care of your baby, but if you're worried about his safety, put him in the river. Don't be scared or sad. We will bring him back to you, and he'll become a special messenger."

(8) Pharaoh's people picked him up, but he ended up causing them problems and becoming their enemy. Pharaoh, Haman, and their soldiers were up to no good.

(9) Pharaoh's wife said, "He's so precious to me and you too. Let's not kill him. Maybe he'll help us somehow, or we can treat him like our child." But they didn't realize what they were doing.

(10) Moses' mom loved him so much and felt sad that her heart ached. She couldn't think about anything else and almost revealed his secret had We not comforted her so she could trust Our promise.

(11) She told Moses' sister, "Watch over him." So, she secretly kept an eye on him while no one noticed she was there.

(12) We told him not to drink milk from any other mother except his own. His sister asked, "Can I help you find a loving family to care for him?"

(13) Then We returned him to his mom so she could be happy to see him and not be sad anymore. And so, to know that God's promise is true, but most people don't understand.

(14) As he grew up and became strong, We gave him wisdom and knowledge as a reward for doing good things.

(15) He entered the city one day, but nobody recognized him. He saw two men fighting—one from his people and the other from his enemies. The man from his group asked for his help against the other. Moses ended up accidentally killing the other man. He realized it was a bad thing and said, "This is the doing of Satan. He's a clear enemy who leads people astray."

(16) He prayed, "My Lord! I did something wrong, so please forgive me." So, God forgave him. Indeed, God is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

(17) He said, "My Lord! I'll never support bad people, and I'm grateful for all the good things you've given me."

(18) He walked around the city the next day, feeling scared and alert. He heard the man who had asked for help the day before calling out to him. Moses said, "Indeed, you're a troublemaker."

(19) When Moses was about to attack the man who was their enemy, the person cried, "O Moses! Do you want to kill me like you did to the man yesterday? You seem like you want to be a bully in the land, not someone who helps improve things."

(20) And a man came rushing into the city, telling Moses, "O Moses! You better run away because the people in charge want to kill you!"

(21) So scared and alert, Moses left the city and prayed, "My Lord! Protect me from those wrongdoers."

(22) As he journeyed to a new place called Midian, Moses hoped, "Maybe my Lord will show me the Right Way."

(23) And when he reached Midian, he saw a big group of people at a well, and two young women were waiting. Moses asked, "What's going on?" The two women explained, "We can't get water until the shepherds go away, and our father is very old."

(24) So, he watered their sheep for them and then went to a shaded area and prayed, "My Lord, I am indeed in desperate need of any good you might send down to me."

(25) Then, one of the two women shyly approached him. She said, "My father is inviting you over to reward you for drawing water for us." Then, when he came to him and told him the story, he said, "Do not be afraid; you are saved from the wrongdoers."

(26) One of the two women said, "Father, hire him as an employee; the best that you may get is a strong and trustworthy one."

(27) He said, "I want to give you one of my two daughters in marriage if you work for me for eight years. If you complete ten, that's up to you. I don't want to make things too hard for you. You'll find me among the good people if it's meant to be."

(28) Moses said, "That's a deal between you and me. If I keep my promise for either of the terms, there won't be anything against me, and God is watching over what we say."

(29) So, when Moses completed his term, he left with his family. While traveling, he saw a fire near a mountain. He told his family, "Wait here. I see a fire. Maybe I can bring back some news or a burning torch to keep you warm."

(30) Then, when Moses reached the fire, a voice called to him from the right side of the valley near a blessed tree, saying, "O Moses! Indeed, it is I. Allah, the Lord of all the Worlds.

(31) Drop your staff on the ground.” And when he did, it started slithering like a snake, and he got scared and ran away. God said, "O Moses! Don't worry, you're safe.

(32) Put your hand in into your sleeve, and when you take it out, it will glow white and healthy. Hold your arm close to you to feel safe. These are two signs from God to show Pharaoh and his people that they are being disobedient.”

(33) Moses said, "My Lord! Indeed, I accidentally killed someone from them, and I'm afraid they'll try to kill me.

(34) And my brother Aaron is good at talking, so I want him to come with me to help me and show that I'm telling the truth. I'm scared they'll say I'm lying."

(35) God said, "We'll make you strong with your brother and give you power so they can't hurt you. Through Our signs, you and those who follow you will win in the end."

(36) Then, when Moses showed them Our apparent miracles, they said, "This is just made-up magic. Our forefathers never talked about this."

(37) Moses said, "God knows who's got the real guidance and who will do best in the afterlife. Indeed, those doing wrong won't succeed."

(38) Pharaoh said, "O everyone! I'm the only god you need to follow. O Haman! Light a fire and build a tower so I can climb up to the God Moses talks about. I'm pretty sure he's lying."

(39) Pharaoh and his troops were proud and thought they would never return to Us and answer to anyone.

(40) So, We grabbed Pharaoh and his troops and threw them into the sea. Check out what happened to the wrongdoers.

(41) And We made them leaders inviting others to the Fire. And on Judgment Day, they won't be saved.

(42) And We made a curse follow them in this world, and they will be looked down upon on Judgment Day.

(43) And indeed, We gave Moses the Book after We destroyed many people who had done bad things. The Book was like a light to help people know what's right, a guide to show them the way, and a mercy so they could remember.

(44) And you weren't with Moses on the mountain's west side when We gave him the Commandments, and you didn't see it happen.

(45) But We raised many generations after Moses, and people forgot their promises to God. And you weren't around in Midian to recite Our revelations to them, but God sent this revelation to you.

(46) And you weren't there when God talked to Moses at Mount Tur, but it's God's mercy to give you a message to share with others and warn them so they can remember too.

(47) And so they would not say when a disaster comes to them because of their wrongdoings, "Our Lord! If only you had sent us a messenger, we would have followed Your revelations and been believers."

(48) However, when the truth was presented to them by Us, they questioned, "Why doesn't he get what Moses got?" Didn't they already reject what was given to Moses before? They thought the Torah and the Quran were magic works, supporting each other! And they said, "We reject both of them."

(49) Tell them, "Well, if you believe you have a better book from God, bring it forward, and I'll follow it if it's true."

(50) But if they don't respond to you, then realize that they are simply following their desires. And who can be more lost than someone who ignores God's guidance and follows their desires? God doesn't guide those who do wrong.

(51) And We made sure that the Word of God was delivered to them so they could remember.

(52) The people who had the Scriptures before this believe in it.

(53) When they hear it being read, they say, "We believe in it. It's true from our Lord. We had already submitted to God before this.”

(54) These people will get extra rewards because they are patient, do good things, and give to those in need.

(55) And when they hear gossip or bad things, they ignore them and say, "We have our actions, and you have yours. Peace is our only response. We prefer to stay away from those who act without thinking.”

(56) You can't guide everyone you want, but God guides those He chooses. He knows best who should be guided.

(57) They say, "If we follow the Right Path with you, we will certainly be snatched away from our land.” But haven't We given them a secure place in Mecca where We provide them with all sorts of fruits? Sadly, many don't realize this blessing.

(58) We have destroyed many cities because the people living there stopped liking their way of life. These cities became deserted, and only a few people lived there afterward. God is the One Who takes over when this happens.

(59) And your Lord doesn't destroy cities without sending a messenger to warn the people. The messenger recited to them Our revelations. And We don’t destroy cities unless people do wrong things.

(60) Whatever you get in this life is just for fun and looking good. But what God has is way better and lasts forever. Don't you get that?

(61) Imagine someone who's promised something great by God. Are they the same as someone who only enjoys life on earth, but on Judgment Day, they are brought for punishment?

(62) On that Day, God will call people and ask, "Where are the gods you used to talk about and claim as My partners?"

(63) The misleaders who deserve punishment will cry, "Our Lord! These guys followed us on the wrong path. We led them astray because we were lost ourselves. We want nothing to do with them now. It was not us that they used to worship; it wasn't our fault."

(64) It will be said, "Ask for help from your gods." But when they ask for help, their gods won't respond, and they will witness the punishment of Hellfire with their own eyes. If only they had followed the Right Path.

(65) On that Day, God will call them and ask, "What did you answer the Messengers?"

(66) But on that Day, the truth will be so clear that they won't be able to ask each other anything.

(67) However, those who change their ways, believe, and do good deeds will be successful.

(68) Your Lord creates whatever He wants; they have no say in it. God is above any false beliefs they have.

(69) And your Lord knows everything hidden in their hearts and what they show to the world.

(70) And it is He. Allah. There is no god but Him. He deserves all the praise in this life and the next. He will be the One to judge, and everyone will return to Him.

(71) Say, “Imagine if God kept the night going forever until the Day of Resurrection. Who else could give you light besides God? Think about it!

(72) Now, picture if God made the daylight last forever until the Day of Resurrection. Who else could give you a night to rest? Can't you see the point here?”

(73) And because of His mercy, God made day and night so you could relax, ask for His blessings, and be grateful.

(74) On that Day, God will ask, "Where are the gods you used to believe in?"

(75) Then, We will choose a witness from each group of people and say, "Show your proof." Then, they will realize that the truth is with God and that the gods they made up will abandon them and not help them.

(76) Korah was a man from Moses’ people, but he bullied them. He was given so many treasures that the most muscular men could not carry the keys to them. But some of his people told him, "Don't be too proud of your wealth. God doesn't like people who brag about being rich.

(77) And seek the rewards of the afterlife using the gifts God has given you. Don't forget to enjoy your share of the good things in this world, but also be kind, just like God is Kind to you. Don't do bad things that harm the world because God doesn't like people who cause trouble.”

(78) He said, "I got all this because I'm smart." But did he not know that God destroyed many people who were more intelligent and more prosperous than him in the past? Those who do evil things won't have to explain their actions.

(79) One day, he showed off all his fancy stuff to his friends and followers. The people who only care about this life said, "We wish we had what he has. He's so lucky."

(80) But the wise ones said, "You're making a big mistake! People who do good things and believe in God will get a better reward. Only those who are patient and determined will succeed in the end."

(81) Then, God made the ground swallow him and his fancy house. He had no one to help him against God, and he couldn't fight back.

(82) Some people who wished they were in his shoes one day said, "Wow, it's amazing how God blesses and protects His servants as He wants. If God hadn't been kind to us, He could have surely caused the earth to swallow us up! Indeed, those who don't believe in God won't succeed."

(83) The Special Home of the Hereafter is set aside for those who don't do wrong or harm on earth. It's for the good people in the end.

(84) Whoever does a good deed will get something even better. But whoever does an evil deed, the evildoers will be punished based on their actions.

(85) The One Who gave you the Quran will decide where you end up. Say, "Only my Lord knows who has the right guidance and who's going in the wrong direction."

(86) And you never expected to receive this Book, but it's a mercy from your Lord. So, don't support those who don't believe in it.

(87) Do not let anyone stop you from following God's revelations once given to you. Invite everyone to follow the path of your Lord and avoid worshiping multiple gods.

(88) And don't worship any other gods besides Allah. There's no one else worthy of worship except Him. Everything will eventually come to an end, except for God. All power belongs to Him, and everyone will go back to Him.
