In the name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful.
(1) O people! Fear your Lord, for the violent quaking of the Hour is going to be a terrifying thing.
(2) On that Day, you will see every nursing mother forget about her baby; pregnant women will lose their babies. You'll witness people acting strangely as if drunk, but they are not. The fact is that God's punishment is so severe.
(3) Some people like to argue about God without really understanding what they're talking about, and they follow every rebellious devil.
(4) It has been decided that if anyone follows those devils, they will be misguided and end up in the blazing Fire.
(5) O people! If you ever have doubts about resurrection, consider this: We created you from dust, then from a tiny drop, then from a clinging clot of blood, and then into a lump of flesh, whether fully formed or not. This is to show you Our fantastic power. Then, We meticulously shape each baby in the mother's womb for a specific time. When the time is right, We bring you into the world as tiny infants. Some of you pass away at a young age, while others grow old and weak, experiencing different stages of life. It's like watching a dry, lifeless land, but when We send rain, it stirs, swells, and comes to life with all sorts of beautiful plants.
(6) That is because God is Real. He's the One Who can make the dead come back to life, and He is Most Capable of everything.
(7) Also, because there's no doubt that the Hour will come, and God will bring those in their graves back to life.
(8) And some people argue about God without understanding or having any guidance or a clear and enlightening scripture.
(9) They act all proud and try to steer people away from God's Path. But in the end, they'll be embarrassed in this world, and on Judgment Day, We will make them taste the torment of burning.
(10) They will be told, “All of this happens because of the choices you've made, and God always treats His servants fairly.”
(11) And some people worship God on an edge. When good things happen, they're cool with it, but if they go through a challenging situation, they give up on their faith, missing out on the good things in this life and the afterlife. It's a huge loss.
(12) Instead of calling on God, they turn to something that can't help or hurt them. That's far away from the Right Way.
(13) They call upon beings that cause trouble instead of helping. What a lousy choice, and what a bad friend.
(14) God will surely welcome those who believe and do good things into cool gardens with rivers flowing underneath. God can do whatever He wants.
(15) If someone thinks that God won't support His messenger in this life and the next, he should try to reach heaven with a rope, strangle himself, and see if that will make his anger go away.
(16) We revealed this Quran with clear verses, and God guides whoever He wants.
(17) Indeed, the believers, the Jews, Sabean, Christians, Magi, or those who worship many gods, God will judge between them all on Judgment Day. Indeed, God sees everything.
(18) Do you not see that everyone in the heavens and the earth, the sun, moon, stars, mountains, trees, all living things, and many humans bow down to God? And many people deserve punishment, and whoever God humiliates can't be honored by anyone else. God does whatever He wants.
(19) Two groups of people can't agree about God. Those who don't believe in Him will have pieces of clothes made of Fire, and hot water poured over their heads.
(20) Making what's in their stomachs melt away, and their skin too.
(21) They will also have to deal with heavy iron rods.
(22) Whenever they try to escape from this suffering, they will be brought back to it and taste the punishment of a very hot fire.
(23) But for those who believe in God and do good deeds, God will welcome them into beautiful Gardens with rivers flowing underneath. They will wear nice silk clothes and have lovely gold and pearl bracelets.
(24) They were also guided to speak and act in the best way in this world, following the path that leads to praise and goodness.
(25) Indeed, those who don't believe in God and try to lead people away from the Right Path and the Holy Mosque that We made open to everyone, whether they live there or are just passing through. And if someone tries to do something terrible there, We will make them face a very painful punishment.
(26) We showed Abraham where this unique house was. And We told him, "Don't mix up anything with Me and keep this place pure for the people who come to circle, stand, kneel, and pray.
(27) And announce the pilgrimage to people. They will come to it by walking or riding skinny camels from all far-away places.
(28) This way, they can see the benefits for themselves and remember God's Name on specific days when they sacrifice animals. They can enjoy the meat and share it with the less fortunate.
(29) So, they should proceed with their purification routines, keep their promises, and circle the Ancient House."
(30) This means that if you respect God's sacred rules, you do the right thing in His sight. Apart from what's prohibited, you can eat all kinds of animals. Just steer clear of worshipping idols and telling lies.
(31) Be honest with God and never set up other gods beside Him. If you do this, it's like you're falling from the sky and being snatched by birds or carried away by the wind to a distant place.
(32) In other words, showing respect for God's symbols is a sign that you have a devoted and pure heart.
(33) You'll benefit from the sacrificial animals for a while, and then it's time for them to go to the Ancient House.
(34) God has set up a ritual for every group of people to offer sacrifices so they remember God and thank Him for the animals He's given them. Remember, your God is Only One God, so submit to Him and share this good news with the humble.
(35) Those who feel something special in their hearts when they hear God's Name, who stay patient during tough times, pray, and share what they have with others, are doing it right.
(36) Sacrificing animals is a way to remember God's goodness. It's a good thing for you. When you're doing the sacrifice, remember to mention God's Name. After it's done, you can eat and share the meat with those in need. This is God's Way of showing His kindness to you, so be grateful.
(37) The meat and blood of the sacrificed animals don't reach God, but your good deeds do. This is all a way for you to remember and praise God for guiding you. Be happy and share this good news with others who do good things.
(38) Indeed, God supports those who believe in Him. He doesn't like people who are ungrateful or dishonest.
(39) People are permitted to defend themselves in a war because they have been attacked or oppressed, God is Capable of giving them victory.
(40) Those who lose their homes just because they say, "Our Lord is God." If God had not defended people using others, important places where God is worshipped, like monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques, would be destroyed. God will help those who stand up for Him. God is Very Strong and Powerful.
(41) Those who, if God settles them in a community, they'll pray, share with those in need, encourage what is good, and speak out against the bad. God has the final say in all matters.
(42) And if some people don't believe in your message, O Prophet, don't worry. Even the people from Noah, A'ad, and Thamud didn't believe their prophets either.
(43) This also happened with the people of Abraham and Lot.
(44) The people of Midian faced a similar situation, and even Moses had his share of rejection. But I let those who rejected the message enjoy their lives for a while; then I seized them. And how severe was My response?
(45) We've destroyed many cities because of the wrongdoings of their people. These cities turned into ruins with empty wells and once-grand palaces.
(46) Have these people not explored the world, using their hearts to think and their ears to listen? Indeed, it's not the eyes that go blind, but people's hearts become blind within their chests when they close themselves to the truth.
(47) Some people want you to bring punishment quickly, but God keeps His promises. And indeed, a single day for your Lord is like a thousand years according to your time.
(48) There were many communities that We gave them time but continued doing wrong, but then We seized them. Ultimately, to Me is the final return.
(49) Tell the people, "I'm here to warn you plainly.
(50) For those who believe and do good deeds, there's forgiveness and great rewards.
(51) But those who oppose Our messages and fight against them will find themselves in the company of Hellfire."
(52) And whenever We sent a messenger or prophet before you, and they recited Our revelations, Satan would try to confuse people's understanding. But God cancels his suggestions and confirms His messages. God is the All-Knowing, the All-Wise.
(53) To make Satan's suggestions a test for people with doubtful or hard hearts. Wrongdoers are clearly on the wrong path.
(54) And so, people with knowledge will recognize the truth of your Lord and believe in it, softening their hearts toward it. God guides those who have faith.
(55) However, those who don't believe will continue to have doubts until the Hour takes them by surprise, or they face the punishment on a terminating Day.
(56) On that day, God will be in charge. He'll judge between them. Those who believe and do good deeds will be in the beautiful Gardens of Bliss.
(57) But those who don't believe and reject Our signs and revelations will face an embarrassing punishment.
(58) As for the people who leave their homes for the sake of God and then get killed or die, God will indeed take care of them and provide for them a good provision. God is the Best Provider.
(59) He will ensure they go to a place that makes them happy because God knows everything and is Super Patient.
(60) That is because if someone gets poorly treated, responds fairly, and still gets mistreated, God will support them. God is Always Forgiving and Ever-Pardoning.
(61) That's because God merges the night into the day and the day into night, and indeed, He hears and sees everything.
(62) That is because God is the Ultimate Truth, and everything else people worship is false. God is the Most High and the Greatest.
(63) Ever notice how God sends rain down from the sky, and suddenly the earth is green? It's because God is Gentle and knows everything.
(64) Everything in the heavens and the earth belongs to God. He's the only One Who doesn't need anything and deserves all the praise.
(65) Don't you see that God made everything on earthwork for you? And the ships sail through the sea by His command? He keeps the sky from falling on the earth except by His permission. God is Always Kind and Merciful to people.
(66) He is the One Who gave you life, then will cause you to die, and then He'll give you life again. It's sad how people are unthankful.
(67) For every community, We have set rituals for them to perform. So, don't argue with them about it, and invite all of them to follow the Right Path. You're on the Right Guidance!
(68) If they argue with you, say, “God knows everything you do."
(69) God will settle any disputes between you on the Day of Resurrection.
(70) Do you not know that God knows all the secrets of the heavens and the earth? Indeed, that is all written in a Record. It's easy for God to do so.
(71) Some people worship things without any proof or knowledge from God. Those who do wrong will have no one to help them.
(72) And when Our clear messages are read to them, you can see anger on the faces of those who don't believe. They're about to explode at the ones reciting Our messages. Tell them, "Want to hear something even more upsetting? It's the Fire that God has warned those who don't believe. What a terrible place to end up!"
(73) O People! Here is a lesson, so listen to it: what you worship instead of God can't even create a tiny fly, no matter how hard they try together. And if a fly snatches something from them, they can't return it. Both the chaser and the one being chased are weak.
(74) They haven't given God the respect He deserves. Indeed, God is All-Powerful, All-Mighty.
(75) God chooses messengers from both angels and people. God hears everything and sees everything.
(76) God knows everything that happened before and what will happen next. Everything goes back to God.
(77) O you who believe! Bow down, kneel, worship your Lord, and do good deeds to find success.
(78) And strive hard for God's cause in the way He deserves. He chose you without making religion difficult for you. This is the way of your father, Abraham. God named you Muslims 'submitters' in past scriptures and the Quran so the Messenger can bear witness over you, and you can be witnesses over humanity. So, practice prayer, give to those in need, and stay connected to God. He is your Ultimate Guardian – the Best Master and Helper!
