In the name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful.

(1) Alif, Lam, Mim, Ra. These are the verses of the Book, and the truth from your Lord has been revealed to you, O Prophet, but most people don't believe.

(2) God is the One Who lifted the heavens without any support, and you can see that. Then, He settled Himself on the Throne. He controls the sun and the moon, making them move in their orbits until a set time. He manages everything and shows clear signs so you can be sure about meeting your Lord.

(3) God is the One Who made the earth wide and placed firm mountains and rivers in it. He also created all sorts of fruits in pairs. He covers the day with night. There are signs in all of this for those who think.

(4) Look around on Earth; you'll see different areas with vineyards, crops, and palm trees. Some palm trees are connected at the roots, while others stand alone. Even though they all get the same water, some taste better. This is a sign for those who think about these things.

(5) If you ever wonder, O Prophet, the most surprising thing is their question: "Will we be brought back to life as a new creation when we turn to dust?" Those who disbelieve in their Lord are the ones who will have chains around their necks, and they'll live in the Fire forever.

(6) People are asking you to bring punishment quickly instead of being patient for good things, even though there have been many examples before them. Your Lord forgives, even when people do wrong, but He punishes them severely.

(7) People who don't believe say, "Why doesn't he perform a miracle from his Lord?" But you're just here to warn them, and every group of people had a guide.

(8) God knows what's going on in every mother's belly, how things grow and shrink. Everything is planned with great accuracy by God.

(9) He knows the stuff you can see and the stuff you can't. He is All-Great, the Supreme.

(10) It doesn't matter if you talk quietly or loudly or are hidden at night or out in the open during the day. God knows it all.

(11) Each person has angels watching over them, both in front and behind, keeping them safe by God's command.  Remember that things won't improve for people until they decide to make positive changes from within. And when tough times come, only God can help, and there's no one else to turn to.

(12) God is the One Who shows you lightning, causing fear and hope. He's the Creator of those heavy clouds you see in the sky.

(13) The thunder praises God, and angels are in awe of Him. God sends lightning bolts to strike whoever He wants. Even though this happens, some people still argue about God. He's Super Powerful.

(14) The only true call is to God alone. Others whom people pray to can't answer them. It's like reaching out for a drink of water far away but never getting it. The prayers of those who don't believe in God are useless.

(15) Everything in the heavens and the earth, whether they like it or not, bows down in submission to God in the morning and evening, even their shadows.

(16) Ask, "Who's in charge of everything in the sky and the earth?" Say, "God." Ask, "Do you have other protectors besides Him who can't even help or hurt themselves?" Ask, "Can a blind person see as well as someone with sight? Is darkness the same as light? Or do they think there are partners to God who can create things like He does?" Say, "God is the One Who created everything, and He's the One, the Most Powerful."

(17) God sends rain from the sky and makes rivers flow with the right amount of water. The river's flow may have foamy bubbles, like when you heat jewelry or tools in a fire. God uses this to show the difference between what's true and what's false. The foamy stuff gets washed away, but the good stuff stays and helps people. God likes to explain things using examples like this.

(18) Those who answer God's call will get the best reward. But those who ignore Him, even if they own everything in the world twice over, will still give it up to save themselves. They'll face strict judgment, and their home will be Hell. What a terrible place to end up!

(19) Is someone who understands what your Lord revealed to you genuinely similar to someone completely blind? Only those who think with reason will remember.

(20) Those who keep their promises to God and don't break their commitments.

(21) Those who maintain all the good relationships that God has told them to keep, who respect their Lord, are mindful of Him and fear the ultimate judgment.

(22) And those who stay patient to please God, pray regularly and give to those in need from what they have, whether private or public, and respond to evil with kindness. They'll have the Ultimate Home.

(23) They'll enjoy the beautiful Gardens of Eden and the righteous among their parents, spouses, and descendants. Even the angels will welcome them through every gate.

(24) They will tell them, "Peace be upon you for your patience. Your Final Home is truly wonderful."

(25) But those who break their promises to God, cut the bonds that God wants to be united, and spread corruption on earth will face a curse and end up in the Worst Home.

(26) God gives and takes away sustenance as He wishes. Some people get excited about this life, but remember, it's just a tiny taste compared to what comes next.

(27) People who don't believe ask, "Why doesn't a miracle from his Lord come to him?" Tell them, "Indeed, God lets anyone go astray if He wills, but guides those who repent and turn to Him.

(28) Those who believe and feel at peace when they think about God—remembering God brings peace to the hearts."

(29) For those who believe and do good deeds, happiness and a great reward exist.

(30) God sent you to a people like He sent messengers to others before you. You're here to recite what God revealed to you, even though they reject the Most Merciful. Say, "He is my Lord; there's no one else worthy of worship except Him. I trust in Him, and I will return to Him."

(31) Even if there were a Quran recital that could move mountains, break the earth, and even make the dead talk, it would be this Special Book. It's still God who decides everything. Haven't the believers realized that if God wanted, He could guide everyone? Disasters will continue to strike those who don't believe because of their actions, or trouble will come close to their homes until God's promise comes true. God never breaks His promise.

(32) Messengers before you were made fun of, and I gave more time to those who didn't believe. Then, I seized them, and it was a terrible punishment.

(33) Is anyone as watchful as God, who knows everything each person does? But some people worship other gods besides God. Tell me, who are these gods? Name them. Do you think you can tell God something He doesn't already know? Or are these gods just made-up words? The non-believers are so attracted to false beliefs that they are led away from the Right Path. Those whom God allows to go astray will have no one to guide them.

(34) Those who do wrong will suffer the punishment in this life, and the punishment in the Hereafter will be even more severe. They won't have anyone to protect them from God.

(35) The fantastic Garden God promises for good people has rivers flowing underneath and everlasting fruits and shade. That's what the good people get in the end. But for those who don't believe they end up in the Fire!

(36) Those people given the Scripture before have reasons to celebrate what has been revealed to you, O Prophet. But some reject parts of it. Tell them, "I'm here to serve God alone and not associate anything with Him. I invite people to Him, and I belong to Him."

(37) We have revealed this message with laws in Arabic, and if you choose to follow their desires after this knowledge, there won't be anyone to help you against God.

(38) Certainly, God has sent messengers before you, O Prophet, and blessed them with wives and children. Messengers can only bring signs with God's permission; everything happens at an appointed time.

(39) God decides what will happen and what won't. He confirms or cancels what He wants and keeps track of everything in the Source of the Book.

(40) Whether We show you part of what We threaten them with or if We cause you to die, your job is to deliver the message. It's up to Us to judge them.

(41) Can't they see how God works with the earth, making it shrink at its edges?  Nothing can stop God from making judgments, and He settles matters quickly.

(42) Those who came before made evil plans, but God is the ultimate planner. He knows everything that everyone does. The disbelievers will soon find out who will have the Best Home.

(43) Those who don't believe say, "You're not a messenger." Tell them, "God is enough to witness between me and you, and so are those who know the Scripture."
